Information reaching our News desk indicate that President Yoweri Museveni is soon expected to announce his new Cabinet, according to an informant at State House
It has passed three years now since President Yoweri named his new cabinet on 6th June 2016 which was immediately after his 5th term swearing-in as Uganda’s President.
This long spell without a Cabinet reshuffle has since last year caused speculation and anxiety among politicians.
According to a highly placed source, President Museveni will before end of this October reshuffle his Cabinet for the first time this term where several ministers will face the axe.
“The President will reshuffle his cabinet soon now that he has finished his countrywide tours on operation wealth creation. I cannot indulge into the details, but just know very many [ministers] are going to cry,” a source who preferred anonymity said.
President Museveni recently concluded his three-month countrywide mobilization and sensitization of people of Uganda on wealth and job creation with a public rally in Bundibugyo District, Rwenzori Sub-Region in Western Uganda.
According to a source, ministries that could be affected in this new reshuffle include; Ministry of Works and Transport, Ministry of ICT, Ministry of Lands, Attorney General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others.
Museveni is also expected to fill the 3 vacant ministerial positions which include; Minister of State for Industry, Minister of State for the Elderly and Disability and Minister of State for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations.
