Bobi Wine, the head of the National Unity Platform, has mocked President Museveni’s assertions that Facebook is blocked in Uganda.
Museveni claimed that the people of Uganda had complained to the firm about the Facebook closure hullabaloo. He has no problem restarting the nation’s social media platform if they fix them.
Although the corporation cut off its services in Uganda, life has continued. Life has gone on as usual without any interruptions.
When Bobi Wine read Museveni’s statement, he claimed that Museveni was not grounded in reality. The former Kyadondo East MP argued that it is ludicrous for Museveni to believe that Facebook’s closure will harm the firm more than Ugandans.
Museveni was then made fun of by Bobi Wine, who claimed that Sevo believes he drove Facebook out of Uganda. Even some government organizations use Facebook to post updates, last he checked.
“Absolutely detached from reality. How sad, that he thinks his closure of Facebook in Uganda actually hurts Facebook more than it hurts the country! He even thinks he chased Facebook out of Uganda….. The last I checked, even Police makes daily posts on Facebook.”

In 2021, Facebook was shut down just before the general elections. In response to its removal of “false” accounts and pages connected to his reelection campaign, Museveni accused Facebook of being haughty.
