The opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) is in mourning following the tragic and mysterious death of one of its activists, Rose Mugarurirwe.
Reports suggest that Mugarurirwe was killed by unknown criminals under puzzling circumstances.
The body of Rose Mugarurirwe, who was a resident of Bukasa in Muyenga, Kampala, was discovered in Mubende district.
Makindye East Member of Parliament, Derrick Nyeko, expressed his condolences to the affected communities and the NUP family for the loss of Mugarurirwe.
Nyeko lamented the tragic circumstances surrounding her death, stating that she was brutally taken from her home in Bukasa Kanyogoga and left in Mubende District by unidentified assailants.
Local authorities are currently investigating the incident.
Rose Mugarurirwe had previously contested for the position of Woman Councillor in Makindye East during the 2021 general elections.
