Kitara FC secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Express FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal, earning a place in the semi-finals with a convincing performance.
The Fort Portal-based club struck early, with midfielder Samuel Ssenkyuuba opening the scoring in the 12th minute. Ssenkyuuba’s clinical finish from a well-worked team move set the tone for the match, as Kitara dominated possession and pressed Express’s defensive line relentlessly.
Express struggled to mount meaningful attacks, with their midfield unable to control the tempo. Kitara doubled their advantage through striker Rashid Kabugo in the 34th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse. Kabugo’s powerful strike left the Express goalkeeper no chance.
Securing Progression
The decisive third goal came in the 67th minute when midfielder Abdurazak Mubiru sealed the result. Kitara’s advancement reflects their strong campaign momentum as they await the semi-final draw.
