Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine was arrested on monday en-route to police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Kibuli, and was charged with disobedience of statutory duty and remanded to Luzira prison until tomorrow may 2 Thursday.
Bobi Wine who was accompanied by a mammoth crowd, was arrested near the Mulago roundabout and driven to Nagalama police station in Mukono district from where he was driven back to the city centre to Buganda Road court to appear before Grade One magistrate Esther Nahirya.
On Tuesday yesterday a delegation of opposition member comprising of his lawyer Asuman Basalirwa, Betty Nambooze Bakaleke, Erias LUkwago and Ssegirinya and Ssewanyana tried to access Bobi wine but where denied entrance to Luzira prison.
Surprisingly later in Evening His old times fried Jose Chameleon who is now NRM member after running away from people power movement sent a consoling message to Bobi wine telling him to be strong.
“Today morning I woke up and went to Luzira Maximum prison to Visit my comrade, Bobi Wine, I was informed that I had to get clearance from the Commissioner General.
I tried to negotiate but it was all in Vain!
Nevertheless, I pray for you my brother,Be strong as ever. Thanks everyone who has made effort to visit our brother.” Chameleon posted on his face book page.
Chameleon is coming in 2021 contesting for a position of lord mayor of Kampala a position currently filled by Erias Lukwago a strong member on opposition who has been able to with stand any intimidation from government.
