President Museveni has asked parents to leave their children who have just acquired jobs to accumulate wealth because rushing to them for help disorganizes them.
While passing out 223 cadet officers at Uganda Military Academy at Kabamba in Mubende District on Saturday, Mr. Museveni said some parents lead their children into mistakes by demanding support.
“Parents should stop begging your children for money. When you demand from them, you make them steal,” he said.
“When they come to tell them the president said that you should leave us. I know you will fear to tell them. Many families are surviving on subsistence farming which has made them poor. We are asking people to get into commercial farming such that they can become financially stable,” Mr. Museveni added.
The president also urged the passed out cadet officers to remain disciplined in their new positions as leaders in the army so that they can achieve more in life.
