Despair in Bobi wine’s camp as another people power boss shot dead

Just a few days ago not even a week, Bobi wine’s Gulu based people power coordinator doubling also as an artist in Northern Uganda Lucky Bosmick Otim was injured in a scuffle with police.

The incident created fear within people power camp saying that they are being witch-hunted based on their political affiliation.

Another UPDF Soldier shot dead LC V Councillor who doubles as People Power coordinator for Lyabana sub-county in Buvuma district an island found on Lake Victoria. The deceased is Ssalongo Lukoma Stephen who was a resident of Lukoma in Lyabana (In the picture below)

According to a local source on the ground, its believed that the UPDF officer from Lubya Barracks commanded by Capt. Serukera tried to stop fishermen on the waters of Lake Victoria who defied his orders and kept on fishing, this angered the Soldier who reverted to using force  and tried to shot at them

Unfortunately, the bullet went straight for Ssalongo Stephen dealing him a great damage which led to his immediate death. The local residents argued  that these officers are very prejudiced on Politicians who are inclined towards people power movement.

Ssalongo Stephen is the 12th person to be killed in Buvuma district by UPDF Soldiers on the duty of fighting illegal finishing on Lake Victoria in Buvuma in a period of two years.

The deceased has been a popular local leader who embraced People Power and has been the coordinator of Lyabana Sub County also a supporter of People Power MP aspirant of Buvuma, the Democratic Party (DP) National Deputy Youth Leader Ssembajjwe Paul.

Capt. Alituha has confirmed the death of Ssalongo Stephen. He has told reporters that they are waiting for investigations as the body is to be taken to hospital for postmortem report as the family starts burial arrangements.
