Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine yesterday appeared at Buganda Road Court in Uganda’s capital Kampala and charged with disobedience of statutory duty, an offence prosecution says he committed in July 2018.
Prosecution on Monday stated that Bobi Wine, his brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu, one David Lule, Edward Sebufu and others still at large disobeyed lawful orders by holding an illegal protest contrary to section 116 of the Penal Code Act.
He was remanded to Luzira Prison until May 2, 2019 when he will return to court for further mention of the case.
His remand to luzira angered Bobi wine fans and people power supporters who decided to write an open letter to His Excellency the president of Uganda. The letter goes like this.
Dear Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,
As expected, in your desperation and extreme paranoia, you have, once more, levelled trumped-up charges against Bobi Wine, having failed to contain him under “preventative house arrest”.
Although the possibility cannot be discounted that the verdict of the court has been predetermined by you courtesy of a corrupt judiciary.
Ultimately you cannot win because every sentient being in the world knows Bobi Wine to be as innocent of these bogus charges as he was of the execrable trumped-up charge of unlawful possession of non-existent firearms that you, in your heroic stupidity, leveled against him in Arua last year.
Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, clearly, your position is completely untenable: given your exceedingly grave misdeeds and misconduct in office, such as your flagrant abuse of power and egregious venality, your continued tenure as president of Uganda is wholly untenable.
You must resign forthwith. Make haste go now, of your own volition, or face the catastrophic consequences, for you, your parasitic family and your considerable cohort of hangers-on, of being forcibly ousted from power and driven into exile, where, it is devoutly to be wished, you will die a pauper’s death and good riddance for bad rubbish.
