‘Unsweet’ Sex worker stabbed to death by client

The Police in Mukono district is investigating circumstances under which a customer turned against a sex worker and stabbed her to death.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, identified the victim as Catherine Nansubuga, 40 and the suspect as Emmanuel Moses Odongo, 26, a student residing at Kitega-Wantoni in Mukono Municipality.

Onyango said Odongo, who is currently in Police custody, is facing charges of murder. He said Nansubuga, who has been operating at Sunset Guesthouse located at Wantoni, on Sunday, at about 11:00 pm, got Odongo as her client and they booked a room at the same guesthouse.

“However, it is alleged that after locking the door, the neighbors heard Nansubuga calling for help,” Onyango said.

It is alleged that the neighbors, including the guesthouse security guard, Ronald Ndawula, forced Odongo to open the door only to find Nansubuga lying on the bed, in a pool of blood, with what seemed like stab wounds on her neck and back.

Nansubuga is said to have been rushed to Mukono Church of Uganda Hospital where she was pronounced dead from over bleeding.

However, some of the residents who didn’t want to disclose their identity said that Nansubuga was old and sexually not appeasing yet she was charging a lot for her services

Odongo was then handed over to the Police at Mukono Division Police headquarters. He told this website that investigations had commenced, adding that the Police detectives, led by the Mukono Police Division officer in charge of crime, Catherine Tesiima, visited the crime scene.

“Police recovered a number of exhibits, including two knives, bedsheets, a towel, and a bra all stained with blood. “We also examined the body of the deceased, which had many stab wounds on her neck and back,” he said.

Police have also arrested other people who were found at the premises, including the rest of the sex workers, plus their customers.

Over 10 people were arrested, including the guesthouse manager, Patrick Kaboggoza. They were also detained at the Mukono Police Division headquarters.
