In a tragic incident confirmed by the police, a well-known lawyer in Kampala City, Ronnie Mukisa, was shot and killed by unidentified assailants on Tuesday night.

The 45-year-old attorney, employed at IBC Advocates in Namanda Plaza, met his untimely demise at his residence in Kitiko Birongo, Ndejje Division, Makindye Sebagabo, Wakiso District.

Eyewitnesses reported that an unknown individual fired multiple shots at Mukisa, momentarily retreating before returning to deliver fatal shots at close range, targeting his head.

“Statements from eyewitnesses have indicated that an unidentified individual was seen shooting at Mukisa before briefly withdrawing, only to return and shoot him at close range multiple times in the head,” according to Deputy Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire.

Police: Kampala Lawyer, Mukisa, was Shot Multiple Times in the Head

Preliminary information revealed that the lawyer often returned home late, and on the night of the incident, he arrived at the apartment parking lot around 11:00 PM.

As he parked his dark blue Subaru Legacy and closed the gate, gunshots rang out, prompting concerned neighbors to investigate.

The assailant swiftly fled the scene, making a hasty escape on a waiting motorcycle, leaving the direction of their escape unknown. The authorities from Kajansi Police Station promptly responded to the report, dispatching a team to the location.

“Kajansi Police Station took immediate action upon receiving the report of the incident. A team was dispatched to the scene, followed by the introduction of canines to aid in the investigation. Despite their efforts, the scent was lost along the way,” ASP Owoyesigyire stated.

“A thorough search of the area led to the recovery of four projectiles and cartridges,” he added.

At the time of reporting, Mukisa’s body had been recovered and transferred to the City Mortuary for postmortem examination.

ASP Owoyesigyire assured the public that Kajansi Police Station is actively pursuing inquiries to gather more information and ascertain the motive behind this appalling crime. Every possible effort is being made to apprehend the perpetrator(s) and ensure justice is served.

The police have urged anyone with relevant information related to this incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

This tragic event has sent shockwaves through the legal community, and the public is anxiously waiting for answers surrounding the motive and those responsible for the heinous act.
