The police in Soroti West, Uganda, are currently conducting a search for 15 individuals believed to be involved in the alleged gang rape of a 23-year-old woman.

The incident reportedly occurred on September 19, at around midnight, in Odeke cell, Nakalunya ward, Western division, Soroti City, as the victim was returning from a nearby bar.

Details gathered so far suggest that, in the hours leading up to midnight, the victim visited her male friend at Camp Swahili after finishing work, until around 10 pm.

On her way back home, she encountered her two cousins, identified only as Isaac and Nathan, who accompanied her to a nearby bar where they continued to drink until midnight.

However, as they were making their way home, the trio was joined by a group of 13 men.

Subsequently, the two cousins allegedly brandished knives and threatened the victim, forcing her to undress before they raped her.

During the assault, the victim’s cousins also reportedly stole her phone, cash amounting to Sh200,000, shoes, vest, bra, and underwear, according to Police spokesperson Enanga.

The police are actively pursuing the suspects involved in the gang rape, and investigations are ongoing.
