Manchester United vs Brentford predictions: Red Devils can back Bees into a corner

Manchester United are facing a pivotal moment in their season as they seek to reverse the tide of back-to-back Premier League defeats at Old Trafford.

The club’s recent woes include a stunning loss to Galatasaray in the Champions League, pushing them down to the 10th position in the Premier League table after a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

This marks a stark contrast to their stellar home record last season, with the team now suffering three losses in their last four games at Old Trafford.

United’s Struggles

Following consecutive defeats in front of their home crowd, Manchester United are under immense pressure to recover their form.

The most recent loss to Crystal Palace has placed them in 10th place in the Premier League, which is quite a fall from grace for a club with high expectations.

Their home form, once a fortress, is now faltering.

Injury Woes and Missing Players

Erik ten Hag faces additional challenges as he is dealing with a shortage of recognized left-backs, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia sidelined and Sergio Reguilon on loan.

Jadon Sancho remains unavailable for disciplinary reasons, and Lisandro Martinez is set to be absent for at least two months due to a foot injury.

These absences pose a significant challenge for the team.

Brentford’s Situation

Brentford, currently in 14th place, heads to Old Trafford without a win in their last five games.

However, they recently managed a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, indicating they have the potential to cause problems for United.

Manager Thomas Frank provides updates on his team’s injuries and the progress of Ben Mee’s return.

Notable Stats

Manchester United’s struggles this season are evident in their record of losing six out of ten matches in all competitions.

Their defense has been shaky, conceding 18 goals, the most at this stage since 1966–67.

Additionally, Brentford has not won away against United in recent times, with their last victory dating back to February 1937.

The Bees have dropped a high number of points from winning positions this season.

Hojlund’s Impact

One of the bright spots in United’s challenging season is the emergence of the 20-year-old forward, Hojlund, whose two-goal performance on Tuesday provided a ray of hope.

He is changing the dynamics of United’s attack with his ability to link play with his back to goal and make runs typical of a center forward.

This change in approach by United’s wingers, opting for the outside route more often, is increasing their corner count, with only Arsenal forcing more corners this season.

United have tallied at least eight corners in all four of their previous home Premier League games.

Manchester United faces a crucial test against Brentford as they aim to reverse their recent misfortunes.

Their struggles at Old Trafford and injuries to key players have made this a challenging season.

On the bright side, emerging talents like Hojlund are providing a spark of hope for United’s attack.

The clash with Brentford holds significant importance in their quest for redemption and stability.
