Police in Najjera have arrested a man who was found stealing from someone’s house in broad day light.

The man under custody was found loading the victim’s household property worth millions of money.

The victim has been identified as James Nakissa.

In a brief statement by Kampala Metropolitan Police, the officer in Charge of Najjera Police Station got information from the Chairperson LCI Bulabila Med Nsubuga that a suspect was arrested in Bulabila Kamwanyi zone at a local’s residence.

Police said that Nakissa had gone back home to drop his children from school at around 2:45 pm when he found an unknown car in his compound while loading his household items.

The car was registration number UAZ 174Z, Toyota Wish silver-grey in color.

Mr Nakissa said that there was a man not known to him standing on the compound communicating to some people inside the house.

He asked the person on the driving seat to explain what they were doing at his compound but he failed to do so.

The suspect who identified himself as Kayiza was arrested while his other friends escaped. Kayiza was sought to be a Muslim devout, but later turned out that he was impersonating another religion in order to avoid attention

He is currently detained at Najjera Police Station on charges of housebreaking and theft.

Amongst the items that were taken included a refrigerator, a home theater system, a television set among others.
