Buganda’s Katikkiro, Charles Peter Mayiga, has issued a call to the kingdom’s chiefs to make ready for the imminent advent of federalism in Buganda.
This call comes as all indications point towards Buganda‘s impending transition to a federal system of governance.
Mayiga conveyed this message during the reception of Oluwalo Lwo funds raised by schools in Ssingo and Kyaddondo provinces.
In a remarkable fundraising event held at Bulange Mengo, a total of shs21.4 million was generated.
The ongoing initiative, Oluwalo Lwo, is a dedicated effort to raise funds annually to support the efficient operation of the Buganda Kingdom.
Mayiga expressed his gratitude to the leaders who extended invitations to schools from Ssingo and Kyaddondo provinces.
Their enthusiastic participation in the fundraising event at the palace was met with appreciation.
