“I have withdrawn my support to your political fights”- Gen Saleh tells Lord Mayor Lukwago

In a startling admission, Gen Salim Saleh, the principal coordinator of the Operation Wealth Creation program (OWC), stated he was willing to stop supporting Erias Lukwago, the Lord Mayor of Kampala, in his political battles unless he professed regret to him.

Gen. Saleh stated in a message for the new year that he was angered by what Lukwago had said about him and the “power that I am misusing.”

“I have withdrawn all the support I have been giving you in your fights(political) until you apologise,” Gen Saleh said in a message that has since gone viral.

Saleh quoted Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere of the Archdiocese of Kampala as saying that Uganda needs prayers to combat hostility and public distrust.

Erias Lukwago, the Lord Mayor of Kampala, was approached for comment but did not respond to our repeated calls or What App messages to his phone.

However, Lukwago’s personal assistant Elvis Kintu Nsonyi called the message “crap” in a social media comment.

Kintu wrote on Twitter, “This is the very definition of trash.”

The public is shocked by the top coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation’s admission, although the message did not specify which specific political battles he assisted the Kampala Lord Mayor in winning.

The general public will wait to hear Lukwago’s answer to Gen Saleh’s remarks.
