Lt. Col Frank Musisi, a distinguished Ugandan-born officer in the US Army, recently shared his harrowing experience of humiliation at Entebbe International Airport.

Recounting the incident, the decorated serviceman detailed how he was subjected to detention and passport confiscation by a Ugandan immigration officer upon his return to his homeland.

Col Musisi described the ordeal during a public address, highlighting his detention for three hours late at night.

“I was detained for three hours; Immigration detained me for three hours and confiscated my passport while returning to my home country,” shared Col Musisi, reflecting on the ordeal.

“They said I was too proud. A woman made me sit down, I tried to make phone calls but most people were asleep.”

The immigration officer reportedly cited his demeanor as grounds for the humiliating treatment.

Despite his attempts to contact assistance, he found himself in distressing circumstances.

With an illustrious military career spanning back to 2000, including service during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Col Musisi has earned recognition for his dedication.

Additionally, his philanthropic efforts in Uganda, particularly in providing healthcare services, have been commendable, earning accolades from the Ugandan Parliament in 2014.
