Breaking News: Bobi wine ordered to Pack Up and Leave Gayaza

Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi who is scheduled to start nationwide consultations today has written to the Inspector General of Police expressing his frustration with some DPCs who have refused to cooperate.

Bobi Wine was set to begin his consultations for the presidential bid in Gayaza and then head to other parts of the country.

On our way to this place, we met people dressed in red berets, chanting and singing Bobi Wine songs.

The Uganda Policeman in charge has ordered that the organisers of the event pack up and leave.

He says it is not acceptable to hold presidential consultative meetings in open grounds because it comes off as campaigning.

People Power coordinator said they were shocked by such a coarse decision taken by police yet they had been cleared for consultations.

“We are surprised that the Uganda Police has ordered us to leave this place” He said

“We requested and got permission from the Electoral Commission. We are not leaving this place. We are waiting for a way forward from our president.”
