Woman kills HIV-positive husband over sex

The Police have received a shocking report of murder, where a 60-year- old HIV-positive man was killed as he tried to forcefully have sex with his 48-year-old HIV-negative wife.

It is alleged that Lawrence Magona, on October 19, last year, returned home drunk and tried to rape his wife, Neumbe Muzakhi, after she had denied him sex.

A scuffle ensued and in the process, the wife hit his head with a hoe, instantly killing him. The couple, according to the Police, was discordant.

The incident happened at Kidega village, Simu sub-county in Bulambuli district. The case was reported at the Buyaga Police post and the suspect was arrested.

In her remarks during a Police briefing at Naguru Police headquarters yesterday, Polly Namaye, the deputy Police spokesperson, urged medics to always counsel discordant couples, saying through this, couples can agree on whether to stay together or not.

During the briefing, Namaye also detailed some of the murders they recorded over the week. These include the recovery of a yet to be identified body of a woman aged about 18 in a swamp along Kizinda-Akajani road, Mbirimbi Cell, Kizinda town council in Bushenyi district, on January 14, 2020.

Another person murdered was Noah Nabende, a fisherman at Tome on Lake Victoria. He was allegedly killed by fellow fishermen and his body thrown into the lake.

The two suspects, Deogratious Sendiwala and Patrick Kizito were arrested. In another incident, 42-year-old Christopher Omal allegedly killed his father, Charles Oryem, 73, for stopping him from selling his mother’s chicken.

He allegedly hit his father on the head. The incident took place at Toroma West village, Karagum parish, Kuywee sub-county in the Agago district.
