UNEB set to release PLE results

PLE set for November 5, 6

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has finalized marking of the 2018 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and results are expected to be released soon.

According to the UNEB executive secretary, Dan Odongo, the exact date on which the results will be released has not yet been confirmed.

“Expect the results around the same time as next year. We shall inform you,” Odongo said.

Last year, PLE results were released on January 12. Before releasing the results, UNEB has to brief the Minister of Education and Sports. A total of 640,860 Primary Seven pupils sat for last year’s examinations in November.

Out of the total number of candidates, 488,224 are from government-aided schools, while 152,466 are from private schools. Last year’s PLE examinations were conducted at 12,391 centres, grouped under 8,081 sitting centers countrywide.

The marking of the Uganda Certificate of Education and Uganda Advanced Certificate examinations of Education is ongoing and will be complete soon according to Odongo.

Meanwhile, in other East African countries, such as Rwanda, PLE and lower secondary education (ordinary level) national examinations were released on December 30. South Sudan normally releases its PLE results in February, while Tanzania and Kenya released PLE results in October and November.
