Persis Namuganza, a state minister for lands who was recently censured, has now disparaged the parliament’s criticism of her, calling it comical and pointless.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Liberation Day festivities in Kakumiro District, Namuganza stated that only Gen. Yoweri Museveni, who appointed her to the position, has the authority to relieve her of her duties as Minister. No one else in our nation has that authority.
“Iam still the state minister for lands. I can only just laugh to those that censured me in parliament. Is it them who appointed me? It’s only President Museveni who can fire me.” She said
Namuganza went on to say that it’s unfortunate that some members of Parliament are used as weapons in other people’s conflicts and further stated that any wars waged against her will fail.
Namuganza was censured by parliament this week for allegedly disrespecting and undermining the legislature.
