Kadaga: Inebantu Jovia is a true Musoga

Inhebantu (Queen) Jovia Mutesi

Rebecca Kadaga, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs, has affirmed that the newly crowned Busoga Kingdom Queen (Inebantu), Ms. Jovia Mutesi, is indeed a true Musoga hailing from Mayuge District.

She urged the people of Busoga Kingdom and all Ugandans to cease baseless speculation regarding her ethnicity.

“I’ve heard people questioning whether Inebantu is a Musoga because of her name. I want to assure you that she is a genuine Musoga from the Abayise Mughoya Clan in Mayuge District. While the name Mutesi is shared among various tribes, she is unquestionably one of our own,” she emphasized.

Ms. Kadaga, representing President Museveni at the 9th coronation anniversary celebration of Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV, also conveyed her congratulations to him and the Basoga community for achieving this significant milestone.

She read President Museveni’s message, which commended Gabula’s reign for its commitment to peace and unity and congratulated him on securing Inebantu.

Richard Mafumo, the Busoga Kingdom Minister of Culture, highlighted the importance of the 9th coronation anniversary, symbolizing Kyabazinga Nadiope’s continued reign as king.

He expressed the joy of the Basoga people at Kyabazinga’s acquisition of a queen.

During his address, Kyabazinga encouraged the people of Busoga to actively protect the environment by planting trees.

He expressed gratitude for their efforts and urged them to cultivate food crops to enhance family food security.

Additionally, he emphasized the importance of following proper channels, such as the Busoga Land Board, when considering land transactions and advised against hasty land sales.
