Major General Kasirye Gwanga has reacted to the halting of his Fellow General’s Retirement. Sejusa also is known as Tinywefunza retirement was put on hold. While speaking to journalist UPDF spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire said Sejusa’s retirement is on but not now.
Kasirye Ggwanga stepped in yesterday and cautioned UPDF and President Museveni that using force against the wish of former Coordinator of Military Intelligence, Gen. David Sejusa to have him retired from active military services will not work and end badly in case Sejusa decides to be defiant.
He revealed that for the good of the Nation (UGANDA) Sejusa’s will should be respected because just like himself, no amount of intimidation can be used against Sejusa’s resolve when he is determined to achieve his agenda.
“They won’t manage him; Gen. Sejusa is like Kasirye Ggwanga. He is not bothered but instead, they are those ones worried about him. They don’t know the people they are dealing with because we can’t be happy when the country is not happy” Gen. Ggwanga told this website.
He made the remarks while responding to media reports that General Sejusa also known as Tinyefunza was struck out of the lists of the army who were set for retirement next month.
According to the army’s retirement plan, Sejusa, the ex-coordinator of intelligence services in the country, had been lined up for retirement this year alongside other senior military officers such as former Air Force commander, Maj. Gen. Sam Turyagyenda, UPDF representative in Parliament, Lt Gen. Ivan Koreta, Lt Gen. Joram Mugume and the commander of the Army’s engineering brigade, Maj. Gen. Timothy Sabiiti Mutebile, among others.
Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) las October promised that Gen Sejusa was to be retired and his name was put on the list of the officers to retire from the army.
