Gen Elwelu to quell Political and Security insurgencies in Kampala ahead of 2021

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Muzeeyi Sabiiti, has announced a robust and elaborate plan to combat the spiraling crime rate, characterized by cases of robbery and burglary.

According to Sabiiti, Police, among other measures, will set up rapid response teams in zones/villages in order to ensure that all cases of robberies reported are promptly acted on.

The Commander of Land Forces has also been involved in the plan to quell down security insurgencies, a move that has been seen by Political opponents as trying to intimidate them ahead of 2021.

It should be noted Fen Elwelu is known as a nonsense Army Man due to a controversy encounter of him and the Rwnzururu Kingdom were 200+ people were left dead.

Bringing In Elwelu to Kampala follows a directive from President Yoweri Museveni to Sabiiti to work out a quick plan of action to combat criminal gangs in Kampala and the surrounding areas.

In his directive, Museveni instructed Sabiiti to submit within two days a plan of how the criminals terrorizing the residents of Kampala and the surrounding areas would be dealt with following a spate of attacks and murders by thugs.

Sabiiti told the press Yesterday that Police are already implementing the new security measures in Kampala and the surrounding areas, but the plan will be rolled out across the country.

“The criminals will be defeated once we work well with the public,” Sabiiti said according to New Vision a government Mouth peice.

Yesterday, Sabiiti, who represented the police chief, Martin Okoth Ochola, addressed the press and announced the plan. Also present was the commander Land Forces, Lt. Gen. Peter Elwelu, CID director Grace Akullo, First Division commander Maj. Gen. Samuel Kawagga and directors of the different police departments.
