Businessman Shot Dead After Armed Robber Steals Bag of Money

A businessman in Agago District has been shot dead by an unknown gunman in a suspected armed robbery.

The deceased has been identified as Morish Ocana, a businessman from Kalongo Town Council in Agago North Constituency.

Agago Resident District Commissioner James Nabinson Kidega said the incident happened at around 7pm on Tuesday. Ocana had reportedly locked his shop and left when an armed robber confronted him.

According to Kidega, the attacker demanded a bag that reportedly contained money. Ocana declined to hand it over.

The assailant, who is believed to have been armed with a pistol, then shot him before fleeing with the bag.

He added that authorities have not yet established whether the gunman acted alone or had accomplices hiding nearby.
