President Kizza Besigye and Chairman Wasswa Birigwa while attending a Thanksgiving Service for North Kigezi Diocese Bishop Benon Magezi at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano thanked the prisons boss for treating him well during his time of imprisonment.
The ceremony was intended to raise funds to expand the Cathedral.
Kizza Besigye has been a Campaigner for the expansion of the Cathedral that every time he has prayed from the church, he has reminded the Bishops to expand it to standards that reflect the influence of Rukungiri to evangelization.
On Christmas day Service in 2017, he again asked Bishop Magezi to launch the fundraising drive and contributed 5M.
Almost 2yrs later, the fundraising for the church finally kicks off and Kizza Besigye and People’s Government has contributed 5M and 2tonnes of Cement.
the event, where the Uganda Prisons Boss Johnson Byabashaija is in attendance, he made recognised Besigye as his “often times my client- hoona nabeiha?” and Besigye in response thanked Prisons Authorities and officials for treating him well every time in he is their custody for opposing Museveni.
Byabasheija also told Besigye that he has improved transport facilities for prisons and added “but when you disturb us now, we have introduced video court session where you don’t need to be in court in person.”
